The Embassy of the State of Qatar opened in the Peruvian capital of Lima in August 2012, so as to coincide with the Third Summit of Arab and South American countries (ESPA). The embassy began its work by renting some rooms at the Marriott Hotel, and after several months it moved to a permanent headquarters located in the most prestigious residential neighborhoods in the capital Lima, the Miraflores District.
The Mission's headquarters was opened officially and it invited the senior officials of Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Mayor of the city officials and a group of colleague ambassadors in addition to some friends and the media, where they were raising the national flag over the embassy building to mark the official opening.
